NINETY FIVE new homes will be built in Bicester next year following a delay because of the recession, it has been confirmed.

Bovis Homes will start work on the Kingsmere site, near Bicester Village shopping centre, next year.

It was stalled as the recession bit.

The homes will comprise two-bedroom apartments and three, four, five and six-bedroom family properties.

It is part of a bigger development at Kingsmere, launched in July this year, which will provide 1,500 new homes on a 287-acre site.

The project includes £40m for local infrastructure, including a bypass, public transport and education.

The firm was behind the Bovis Park development in the town 10 years ago.

Spokesman Anne Wicklow said: “This is a great location, both in terms of the development itself and the town as a whole.”

She said Kingsmere would provide homes with landscaping, parks, cycle paths and pedestrian walkways, plus schools, a business park and shops.
