FOOTBALLERS are celebrating the news that work can start on their new pavilion thanks to a cash boost.
The £17,195 grant, from the Football Foundation, means that building work can start on the Charlbury Football Club’s much-needed facility at Nine Acres Recreation Ground.
Robert Caston, chairman of Charlbury FC’s fundraising committee, said: “I am absolutely delighted that this award from the Football Foundation has now made the provision of a new pavilion a reality.”
Paul Thorogood, chief executive of the Football Foundation, said: “We warmly congratulate the club and the local FA for their hard work and dedication in securing this award.”
This week bulldozers started work on the site to demolish the old pavilion.
