I AM afraid that councillor Chris Robins has, most unusually for a politician, missed the point somewhat in order to further his own agenda regarding the faulty speed camera statistics debate (Oxford Mail, September 6).

The real point is that if those statistics that were rolled out to the Press, and subsequently picked up by them as being ‘incorrect’, were stated in a court of law, then whoever was responsible would have been guilty of perjury. Or if not that, then certainly falsehood and prevarication.
