THE ‘SOAK’ tag sprayed on to Oxford Ice Rink more than a month ago by graffiti artists plaguing the city still has not been removed.

The city council, which promotes its Cleaner, Greener Oxford campaign to tidy up Oxford, has not said why the Oxpens building has not been cleaned, despite the tag being wiped elsewhere in the city.

The tag, written in metre-high letters on the outside of the 30-year-old ice rink, was one of the most prominent spray paint attacks in the graffiti wave.

But council spokesman Louisa Dean would not comment on why the ice rink had not been cleaned, or how many hours council workers had spent tackling the problem.
