Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A34 today in which two men died.
The collision happened at about 7.30am on the southbound carriageway, about three-quarters of a mile before the Chieveley turn-off.
Police said a white Mercedes van left the carriageway and collided with a black Audi, which was parked in a layby.
The driver and passenger in the van were pronounced dead at the scene. They were a 22-year-old man from Norfolk and a 25-year-old man from Cambridgeshire.
The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.
The A34 southbound carriageway was reopened at 1.30pm.
Sergeant Richard Thorpe, of Chieveley Roads Policing Unit, said: “We would like anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward, as we are trying to establish how and why the collision occurred.”
