A HOTEL donated furniture and bedding to an Oxford charity for the homeless.
Following the refurbishment of The Old Swan and Minster Mill, in Minster Lovell, near Witney, owner Lana de Savary donated soft furnishings and bed linen from the guestrooms to homeless charity Aspire.
Gillian Roe, general manager of the hotel, met Jenny Fox, manager from Aspire, to hand over the 63 duvets, 200 pillows, 63 kettles and 12 lounge chairs.
Ms Roe said: “We’ve always tried to support the local community with charitable initiatives and this will certainly continue under Mrs de Savary’s ownership.”
Mrs de Savary bought the hotel in May.
Aspire, based in Oxford, aims to help people who have experienced homelessness in Oxfordshire and want to get back into work.
Manager Ms Fox said: “We are thrilled with the donation, these items are much needed and will go straight into the hostels around Oxfordshire, as well as helping those people not so well off who are starting out and need help furnishing their own accommodation.”
The hotel, which has 16 guestrooms, is near completion of its restoration programme.
