CHILDREN at the village school helped towards the cost of repairing an ancient thatched cob wall in 1972. They gave £20, part of the proceeds of a school play. Antony Chown, 10, watched by headmaster, Ron Martin, is seen presenting a cheque to Ann Dendy, secretary of the Cob Wall Fund.
Jessica Wolff, 10, from Blewbury Primary School, in the second picture, was one of the performers in Didcot and District Schools’ Music Festival in 1990. She had a double role as a singer and cellist. Nine schools took part in the festival at Didcot Civic Centre.
Parents were brought in to help with school projects. In the third picture, Louise Butler is seen helping five-year-olds Rhodri Armour, Patrick Martin and Bruce Gallop during an art lesson in 1984.
