JEAN Hall, 85, a former Goring parish councillor who championed Goring Festival, has died.
Mrs Hall, left, served on Goring Parish Council from 1988 to 1998 after moving to the village in 1964 when her husband Rod was appointed university liaison officer at Esso’s research centre at Milton, near Didcot.
Qualifying as a teacher in 1969 at Culham College, she secured a job at Moulsford Prep School teaching science and music.
Her husband passed away in 1998 and she continued to live in Milldown Avenue until moving to The Grange after a fall in 2001.
Mrs Hall, who was a member of Goring Sailing Club, died on August 11, at The Grange Care Home after complications with a blood clot.
A service was held at Reading Crematorium on Friday, August 20.
Her ashes will be reunited with her husband’s at Goring Streatley Golf Club.
She is survived by her two sons Spencer and Russell.
