Good news this week from Arqiva, the company responsible for carrying out work on the television mast at Beckley, which says that thousands of viewers could get their reception back by the end of the month.
Preparations for the digital switchover and a fire at the mast in February meant many people have been left without a number of channels ever since.
But we are mystified by the comments from a company spokesman who said he could not say what caused the fire, nor how much it had cost to replace the mast as it was ‘commercially sensitive’.
Long-suffering viewers who will not get a penny in compensation ought to be told what led to the loss of service.
