TALK about shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.
UKIP has noted that the Tory manifesto priorities set out in the coalition agreement states that a referendum will be held on “any European treaty that shifts powers from Britain to the EU”.
The problem is that the final treaty of all treaties (the Lisbon Treaty which dictates most of the law to this country) was signed up to many months ago and is, more importantly, self-amending – which means there will be no debate/consultation/negotiation or any reference whatsoever to the wishes that the general public may have to offer up!
