Police today appealed for witnesses after a teenage motorcyclist died in a crash in Witney last night.

Police were called just before 7pm to reports that a motorcyclist who had been travelling along Thorney Leys ring road, towards the A415, had come off his bike and landed in a hedgerow.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist, from Witney, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed until about 10pm to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information which may help police with their enquiries to contact PC Matt Booker, via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
