Back to school in North Oxford in 1961
THERE will no doubt be plenty of groans over the next few days as children return to school after the long summer break.
But there was no lack of enthusiasm for lessons when this picture was taken.
These young pupils could not wait to burst through the school gates and get back behind their desks.
The picture was taken at the entrance to SS Philip and James School in Leckford Road, North Oxford, in 1961.
