A list of people convicted of offences at Oxford Magistrates' Court recently: Peter Doyle, 54, of Horspath Road, Oxford, admitted criminal damage to the door mirror of a car in Oxford on July 24. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.

Dean Jones, 32, of Salford Road, Marston, Oxford, admitted theft of a bicycle valued at £536 in Oxford on June 27 and cultivation of 30 cannabis (Class B) plants in Oxford on July 2. Told to do 30 days’ Education Training Employment and pay £85 costs.

David Goodwin, 45, of no fixed address, admitted using racially or religiously aggravated words or writing to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Oxford on June 30. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Douglas Whiting, 27, of Pound Field Close, Oxford, admitted criminal damage to a Vauxhall Vectra and assault by beating in Oxford on June 19. Given a three-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. Also given two years’ supervision and made to attend a domestic violence programme for 28 days. Made to pay £600 compensation and £85 costs and given a restraining order.

Thomas Hayday, 21, of Jack Argent Close, Oxford, admitted wounding or grievous bodily harm without intent on May 2 in Nuneham Courtenay. Given 200 hours’ unpaid work and told to participate in a course for “angry, impulsive drinkers” for 10 days. Also told to pay £750 compensation and £85 costs.

Thomas Hutchinson, 18, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, convicted of assault by beating in Oxford on March 21. Given 220 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £100 compensation and £250 costs.

Nadeem Ahmad, 26, of Falcon Close, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis (Class B) in Horspath on July 21. Fined £80, £15 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.

Kevin Glynn, 48, of Lewell Avenue, Marston, Oxford, admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after a road accident in Botley Road, Oxford, on February 26. Fined £400, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.

Symeon Spyrou, 34, of Prospect Road, Banbury, admitted failing to attend or remain for a follow-up assessment following a test for the presence of a Class A drug in Oxford on May 24.

Fined £100, £15 victims’ surcharge and £30 costs.

Dexter Thompson, 28, of Geoffrey Barbour Road, Abingdon, admitted shoplifting a blu-ray player valued at £129.99 from Sainsbury’s in Didcot and burglary of a £350 computer from Thameside First School in Abingdon on June 10. Given six months’ drug rehabilitation and 12 months’ supervision. Also told to pay £129.99 compensation.

Vivien Fawdrey, 18, of Shipton Road, Woodstock, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on July 1. Given 120 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.

Daniel Kerr, 30, of Lay Avenue, Berinsfield, admitted fishing or taking fish without a licence in Dorchester-on-Thames on May 5. Fined £70, £127 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Mark Griffin, 26, of Lodge Close, Old Marston, Oxford, admitted fishing or taking fish without a licence in Dorchester-on-Thames on May 5. Fined £70, £50 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Gareth Williams, 26, of Lodge Close, Old Marston, Oxford, admitted fishing or taking fish without a licence in Dorchester-on-Thames on May 5. Fined £70, £70 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Bevan Adams, 24, of Bodley Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a hat, a handkerchief and a pair of socks, valued at £26.80, from Debenhams in Oxford on July 13. Given a three-month conditional discharge and told to pay £5.50 compensation.

Jamie Cook, 20, of Asquith Road, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Asquith Road, Oxford, on April 28. Namely having 121 microgrammes in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Given a three-month curfew, 100 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £85 costs. Also banned from driving for 30 months.

David Townsend, 48, of Bodley Place, Oxford, admitted £200 of criminal damage to two windows at the Red Lion pub in Oxford on July 29. Fined £135, with £150 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Ian Lewis, 41, of Waynflete Road, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Waynflete Road, Oxford, on March 3. Namely having 136 milligrammes of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80mg. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £250 costs. Banned from driving for five years.

Darren Brady, 26, of Greenhill, Oxford, admitted stealing meat products to the value of £40 from Waitrose, Abingdon, on July 14. Also admitted stealing meat products to the value of £25, from the Midcounties Co-op in Oxford on July 10. Also admitted failing to attend or remain for a drugs assessment on July 12, and criminal damage to property valued at under £5,000 at Oxford on July 24. Also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Given a community order requiring him to have treatment for drug dependency, and ordered to pay £175 compensation.
