THE musical Bugsy Malone gave youngsters with disabilities the perfect platform to try out their performing skills.
Fifty young people took part in the production, which was organised by Marston-based charity the Parasol Project, which supports young people with disabilities.
The title role was taken by Charlotte Donson, pictured left with Rhiannon Bough as Blousy Brown.
George O’Shaughnessy, a spokesman for the project, said the musical was performed at Magdalen College School on Wednesday.
Young people aged 13 to 19 took part following six weeks of rehearsals and at East Oxford Community Centre.
Artwork created by young people from across Oxfordshire was also on display at the school.
Mr O’Shaugnessy said: “Some of the youngsters have autism, Asperger’s, Down’s syndrome or other learning difficulties.
“This project gave them a great opportunity to do the kind of thing that normal teenagers usually do.”For further information visit parasolproject.org
