Police are appealing for witnesses to two incidents of criminal damage caused to eight Mountain Ash trees in Cane Lane, Grove.
The trees, in a field in front of Grove RFC clubhouse, were snapped and have had to be removed following the incidents.
Six of the trees were damaged between 10pm on Saturday and 8am on Sunday, and the other two in the early hours of Tuesday.
The value of the eight damaged trees was £1,200.
Graham Munday, Grove Parish Clerk, said: “We are absolutely gutted because it is just mindless vandalism. This sort of thing should not happen.”
“The trees have now been removed as there was no way they could be recovered. The parish council is very disappointed.”
