Agents marketing a new-build apartment block in Kidlington say the show home is a major reason why they are so popular with buyers.
Apartments similar to the one showcased in the Oxford Homes scheme sold out, prompting the developer to fit-out a second to demonstrate the remaining four properties.
Karen Mole, of agents Savills, said: “All the buyers of the first eight apartments were sold partly on the strength of the superb show home which the developer’s wife, Jenny Chopping, created.
“Her flair and creativity helped them visualise what their own apartment could look like, and they all opted for a similar layout.
“The last four apartments still have two bedrooms and two bathrooms but are slightly smaller and have a different floor plan.”
One resident, Phil Downing, said: “I had looked at several properties within my price range but this one definitely had the edge in terms of build quality and specification."
Ms Mole added: “The majority of buyers have been young professionals, who would have been paying 15 per cent more for a similar property in Oxford.
“They have all been impressed by the exceptional specification and the location.”
Each apartment includes an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area and two bedrooms, one with en suite. There is also a separate bathroom. Other features include fitted wardrobes, carpets, a lift to all floors, parking space and a video entry system.
The four remaining two-bedroom and two-bathroom apartments at 18 High Street are priced at £199,995 and £219,995. For more details, call Savills’ hotline on 01865 269010.
