Marcus Li secured his place among England’s brainiest pupils after getting 15 A* and A grades.

The 16-year-old discovered the exceptional results when he arrived at Bartholomew School, in Eynsham, shortly after 9am yesterday.

Headteacher Andrew Hamilton paid tribute to Marcus’s “astonishing” scores.

He said “We’re delighted with the results of all of our students and we would particularly like to congratulate Marcus on his fantastic achievements.”
