THE Principal of Oxford Academy today praised his pupils for another “record year” in GCSE exam results.
Mike Reading said results have now improved to 63 per cent five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C and 32 per cent five or more at grade A*-C including English and Maths.
Mr Reading said: ““Following the success of last year, The Oxford Academy has achieved another year of record-breaking achievements as a result of the hard work of students and staff.
“We have not only improved; we have blown away previous achievements.
“Our own target for this year has been exceeded.
“The headline figure of 32 per cent is three times the score of three years ago.
“More and more students are experiencing the thrill of success.
“One in five of our grades was an A* or A and 67 per cent of our grades were A* to C.”
The Oxford Academy in Sandy Lane West, Littlemore, specialises in Maths, ICT and Sport, and opened its doors in September 2008, following the closure of Peers School.
