VINTAGE car owners enjoyed an exotic barbecue by the Thames as they raised £1,800 for Help the Heroes.
The Ox and Berks Morris Minor Club met at the Radley College Boathouse on Sunday for a barbecue featuring ostrich, springbok and boar meat, plus live music, a raffle and an auction.
The club combined its annual riverside picnic with the Abingdon Masonic Lodge’s annual fundraiser.
Club chairman Bill Hewlett said: “We put all our efforts together and everybody had a fantastic time.
“It really was a great event and the weather helped. We had a very good turn-out.”
He added: “Everyone there shares an interest in cars but it really is a social thing.”
