PUNCH and Judy stole the show for these smiling children at the Ferry Centre in Summertown, Oxford, in 1978.
While they sat absorbed by the puppets’ knock-about antics, their parents were able to enjoy themselves at an autumn fair. The fair was organised by the North Oxford Association to bring the community together and raise money for its funds.
The fair included stalls selling anything from books, bottles and tins to cakes and children’s toys. Entertainment was provided by the folk guitar group from The Cherwell School and the North Oxford folk dancers.
