PENSIONER Philip Imray is to sleep on the streets of London for the second year running.

Mr Imray, 66, hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for disadvantaged children in India when he camps in the grounds of St James’ Church, Piccadilly.

He will be one of about 40 people sleeping out to raise cash for charity Calcutta Rescue, which supports street children in the city, on September 4.

Mr Imray, of Longfields, Bicester, said: “If I can do it for one night to help them then that’s brilliant.

“But in India they don’t have the luxury of sleeping bags, roll mats or plastic sheeting.”

Last year Mr Imray took part in a sleep out in Hampstead and raised £838. Anyone who wants to sponsor Mr Imray should call 01869 248125 or email philipmichael.imray@virgin.net l Mr Imray co-founded Bellaray Charity Mission in 2002 after seeing Indian children sleeping in the street on Sport Relief.
