A couple raised £238 from a car boot sale to help furnish a family room at an Oxford hospital in memory of their son Finnley, who died earlier this year.
Gemma Froude, her husband Luke and work colleagues, got up at 5.30am for the Bodicote sale on Sunday. They sold off a host of donated items and put some pieces on auction website eBay raising a further £104.
Mr Froude’s employer Bibby Financial Services has pledged to double the amount raised.
Proceeds will go to Ssnap, the charity which supports the special care baby unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Finnley died at the hospital in June, aged 18 weeks, after being born prematurely.
