I HAVE an idea to help relieve Oxford’s traffic problems – banning First Great Western and CrossCountry from stopping their long-distance trains at Oxford and making them call instead at Radley.
This measure should be considered by the city and county councils, as it would ease traffic in the notorious troublespots of Botley Road and Frideswide Square.
It also has the advantage of being as sensible as the proposal to divert the London and airport coaches from the city centre to start from the park-and-ride car parks.
