A TRIP to Paris is most people’s idea of a holiday, but Witney friends Mark Holloway and Andrew Fisher are doing it the hard way.
The friends will set off from London on Wednesday, September 15, on a 320-mile sponsored cycle to the French capital, raising funds for the Alzheimer Society.
Mr Holloway completed the challenge last year and this time persuaded friend of 20 years Mr Fisher to join him.
Mr Holloway said: “It was tough but very do-able and I was really pleased with how it went.
“I am confident about doing it again this year as Andrew is looking fit and is rising to the challenge.”
The pair have been going for 20-mile rides during the week and longer cycles at weekends.
Mr Holloway, who lives in Westcote Close, is an investment manager at Barclays.
The bank has agreed to match the money the money he raises, which, so far, is £2,000.
The pair hope to complete the ride in four days.
Landscaper Mr Fisher said: “The first day will be the hardest as we have a ferry to catch from Folkestone – that will be a little bit of pressure – but there are food and drink stops.”
