Sir – Water features in some new towns are very nice and very pleasant to sit beside on a hot day, whilst resting from shopping.
However, in Bicester we have a water feature (more like a rubbish feature) as this moat has got all kinds of rubbish thrown in; bottles, wrappings, cardboard boxes all floating in the moat.
Thick weeds are also allowed to grow and along with thick algae make this water channel a sight for sore eyes. Bicester’s councillors must turn in the opposite direction when passing this disgusting mess close to the centre of the town.
A new Market Square is proposed. It would be much better if this disgusting mess was cleaned up first.
N MacRae, Bicester
