Police are appealing for witnesses after a boat was set alight in Kidlington late last night.
Police were called to Grovelands at about 10.30pm by Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue, following reports that a 10ft-long fibreglass boat had been set alight.
Firefighters managed to successfully extinguish the blaze before it could spread to other boats moored nearby.
PC Jonathan Overall said: “Some youths were seen in the vicinity of the boat shortly before the fire was reported and I would be keen to speak with them about what they saw.
“I would also urge anyone else with information about this incident to come forward and speak with me as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Overall via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
