Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged rape in Eynsham yesterday evening.
A 50-year-old woman was walking her dog in the sports field off the High Street at about 9.40pm when she was approached by a man.
The man told the woman that he had a knife and forced her to perform a sex act on him.
The women managed to push the man away and ran away from the scene. Shortly after the police were called.
The man is described as white, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall and aged in his twenties. He was wearing white jeans, a white puffa-style jacket and trainers.
Det Sgt Rob Hughes said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area last night who may have seen or heard anything.
“The man is thought to have run off in the direction of Station Road after the alleged attack. I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen him here and seen where he went.
“The neighbourhood police team is aware of the incident and patrols will be stepped up in the village to reassure the local community.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Hughes via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
