Chris Halford (Oxford Mail letters, August 13), accused me of being anti-military and anti-American. Could he offer any evidence to support this?
My support for our military is different to those who are happy to see them killed and injured in conflicts I do not support.
To strongly oppose the likes of Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney – who I consider true cowards who all ran away from danger – hardly makes me anti-American.
Yes, I’m anti-establishment – like most people, I’d guess, and I certainty detest the war criminal Tony Blair, who still has to face the possibility of a war crimes trial, in the Hague.
The timing of Mr Halford’s letter was most unfortunate for him, bearing in mind the Mail’s lead story the day before, regarding how badly our soldiers are treated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
As for George Galloway, I’ve always supported his anti-war stance – and hasn’t he been proved totally right regarding Iraq and Afghanistan?
Mr Halford can stick with his heroes, Bush and Blair, and I will continue to support the likes of Galloway and former soldier Joe Glenton, who continue to hold the moral high ground, whether you love ‘em, or loathe ‘em.
