THESE artist’s impressions show what Cherwell Valley Services, near Bicester, will look like once it rises from the ashes.
In April, the M40 service station near junction 10 was destroyed in a major fire and now plans are under way for a £13m replacement.
The planning application for the new service area was approved by Cherwell District Council’s planning committee yesterday and rebuilding work is expected to start in the near future.
Moto, which is currently providing temporary facilities for drivers, hopes the new building will open by the spring of next year.
Andy Leatham, a spokesman for Moto, said: “It was a devastating fire but the new building will look fabulous. The £13m is a substantial amount of money, but the service station was completely destroyed and could not be rebuilt.
“The anticipated opening time for the new building is spring 2011 and we are aiming for April or May.
““There won’t be any change in terms of the brands provided and businesses such as M&S, Costa, Burger King and WH Smith will all feature.”
