Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole more than 6,000 litres of fuel from a garage in Shipton-under-Wychwood.
Between 11pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday, thieves stole 6,500 litres of diesel from an overground tank at the Station Road Garage.
Det Con Paddy O’Grady, of Witney CID, said: “This is a large amount of fuel that has been stolen and would have required a big vehicle to transport it and taken several hours to siphon off.
“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area or passing through at the time of the incident who might have seen anyone suspicious or any suspicious vehicles.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con O’Grady via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
