CHILDREN visiting Oxford Castle got the chance to travel back in time and become knights for a day at the weekend.
Brave youngsters could try their hand at being a medieval knight, trying on replica helmets, breastplates and chain mail and enjoy medieval combat lessons with experts.
Adults and children even got the chance to go head-to-head and fight ‘to the death’ in a re-enactment of the Battle of Agincourt.
The event attracted more than 300 people.
Oxford Castle Unlocked marketing and events manager Amanda Coombs said the Knight School had got the best feedback they had ever received for an event.
She said: “The castle was absolutely packed. I’m not sure the staff were fully prepared for the hordes of children dressed in armour that would be running at them.
“The weather was fantastic and it made it all worthwhile seeing so many families enjoy themselves.”
She added: “The adults were joining in too and loving it just as much as the kids.”
