Readers may be interested to know that four peers have given up their seats in the House of Lords in order to keep their tax-avoiding non-domiciled status.
Lords Bagri, McAlpine & Laidlaw, all Conservatives, and crossbencher Baroness Dunn all prefer to live abroad, instead of paying into our tax system.
One can only surmise that they were happy taking from our system when it suited them, only to run for their tax havens when the going got tough.
So it’s no surprise to see on the coalition hit-list school projects by the hundreds. Unless of course you want to become an academy, then there seems to be mountains of money.
Your Lordship pays nowt, our kids pick up the tab. That’s okay then?
And the Royal College of Nurses has criticised the Government for the demise of almost 10,000 jobs, due to freezing recruitment and redundancies or retirements. Another broken promise, as they said they would protect frontline NHS services.
It’s pretty obvious this nasty Tory government, backed solidly by right-wing Lib Dems, is out to slash anything that takes public expenditure.
The NHS and state education, since their inception, have been a thorn in the side of all these wretched Old Etonians and millionaires.
They cannot wait to break up these established services and use the incompetent New Labour wretches as an excuse for all our problems.
Eventually, we will all end up paying for our health and education, working till we drop or surviving on a meagre pension. And it won’t matter what party is in power!
Fine if you’re a millionaire, a banker, or even his Lordship.
