TWO new members joined the Half-Century Club at Witney in 1967 – Mr SV Bridgman, on the left in the first picture, and Mr FG Morris. They were blanket workers who had completed 50 years’ unbroken service with Charles Early and Marriott. The club at that time had 44 members.

The Kenny Club, which helped lonely people and those without transport, received a cheque for £208 from Witney Ladies Circle in 1972. It was planned to use the money to hire a minibus to pick up members and take them to their weekly meetings. Ladies Circle president Mrs W Paterson, on the right, is seen in the second picture presenting the cheque to Mrs D Rivers, a member of the Kenny Club.

Witney Feast is one of the town’s most popular annual events. Two girls – we don’t know their names – take a ride on the ‘Skid’ in 1957 in the third picture.
