PLANS for a new ‘hamburger’ roundabout at Heyford Hill on Oxford’s southern bypass have been backed by the city council’s south east area committee.
Sainsbury’s has submitted plans to create the new junction, similar in scale to the scheme completed three years ago at the Green Road roundabout in Headington.
The supermarket chain claims the scheme will improve access and relieve congestion at the notorious bypass bottleneck.
The council’s strategic development control committee will debate the plans on July 28.
