ROYAL British Legion standard bearers gathered in Headington today to salute another soldier killed in action in Afghanistan.
Corporal Jamie Kirkpatrick, 32, of 101 Engineer Regiment, was the 20th UK soldier to die last month in Afghanistan.
His body was driven from RAF Lyneham to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where a post mortem will be carried out.
The RBL standard bearers will turn out again on Thursday, when the body of a soldier from the Royal Dragoon Guards, who was killed on Monday but has not yet been named, will be repatriated.
The cortege will arrive at the Headley Way entrance to the JR at about 2.45pm.
