FAMILIES enjoyed a fun day in the sun at a special armed forces community event at the weekend.
The Abingdon Armed Forces Open Day gave visitors the chance to see a series of displays from the likes of the Royal Logistic Corps’ Parachute Display Team.
There were also fairground attractions, morris dancers, go-karting, paintballing, bouncy castles, and refreshments on offer at the event on Saturday at Dalton Barracks’ sports field.
Joshua Sandford, seven, is pictured operating a bomb disposal robot.
Entry was free, but there was a collection for the Army Benevolent Fund, Help for Heroes, the Abingdon Bridge charity and Breast Cancer Research.
Town mayor Duncan Brown said: “It was very good. The weather was glorious and the barracks put on a great show.”
