A woman who illegally claimed more than £8,000 in benefits has been given a 12-month community sentence.
Hasina Rouf, 30, of Arkell Avenue, Carterton, was found guilty at Oxford Magistrates’ Court of fraudulently obtaining housing benefit. She was ordered to complete 40 hours of unpaid work and to pay costs of £250.
West Oxfordshire District Council officers will now take action to recover the money fraudulently obtained by Rouf.
