GEORGE Jacobs was given a rousing send-off when he retired after 48 years working at the car factory at Cowley.
Colleagues gathered at a presentation ceremony, then he was whisked off for a drive in what looks like a Bullnose Morris. No doubt our motoring experts will tell us if we are wrong.
The pictures were sent in by Mr Jacobs’s daughter, Rosemary Maud, who lives in Hereford.
Mr Jacobs, who lived at one time with his family in James Street, East Oxford, was the post room supervisor at the works.
