Drivers from Oxfordshire can expect delays this morning near Newbury after a pedestrian died on the A34.
Thames Valley Police officers said a woman suffered fatal injuries in the accident involving a lorry.
The incident happened at about 6.30am on the A34, before the top of the hill at Enborne, on the southbound carriageway.
The A34 southbound is currently closed from the junction with the A4 to the Wash Common section.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours, and motorists are advised to avoid the route if possible and to follow the diversions in place.
