Oxford United fans can meet their heroes and catch a glimpse of the play-off trophy as the club prepares for its assault on League Two.
Hundreds of fans are expected at the Kassam Stadium for the club’s annual open day tomorrow.
Young fans will have the chance to take on the first team as part of an exhibition match on the turf – and see the famous trophy.
Club spokesman Chris Williams said the day would be the “biggest and best yet”.
He said: “It should be a great day.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming people.
“It will be a good opportunity for everyone to get involved with the football club and we hope as many people as possible head along.”
The club’s return to the football league was sealed following a play-off win against York at Wembley in May.
Tomorrow, junior players will be divided into age groups at 9.15pm and will start training on the pitch shortly after.
Doors will open for all other fans at 10am and club chairman Kelvin Thomas will officially welcome everybody to the Kassam Stadium and introduce the new signings.
At 10am, the first team will start training, before taking on the fans in a penalty shoot-out at 11.15am. Players will then join fans in the North Stand for a giant team picture, and there will be a draw to see which fan will have their face on the front of the Leicester City match programme.
At 11.30am, the first team will take on the juniors and, after a short break, will return to sign autographs. There will be three separate areas, each with seven or eight players.
Afterwards, the draw to see who will be mascot for the club’s pre-season games will take place. The event finishes at 2pm.
The open day is being supported by the Oxford Mail. Promotions manager Jo Coady said: “We are delighted to support Oxford United’s open day.
“Last season was incredibly exciting and this is a brilliant way for fans to show their appreciation to the players and the staff.
“It is a great opportunity for fans of all ages to get to know the players and the club more, ahead of the new season.”
Stalls and attractions from the club’s partners will also be on show.
