MEMBERS of an African tribe are visiting Oxfordshire to help people understand the Maasai culture.
The three-month visit has been arranged by charity The African Children’s Fund.
Pictured from left, Peter Saitaga, John Kantai, Sabina Nailantei and Dan Namunter are visiting schools and organisations, to talk to people about their life in southern Kenya.
They have also been performing traditional dances and singing to raise £5,000 to build a water supply in Kenya and northern Tanzania.
Yesterday, they set up a stall outside The African Children’s Fund’s shop, in Corn Street, Witney.
Mr Kantai, 28, who has been staying with friends of the charity around west Oxfordshire, said: “We want to share our culture with the rest of the world.
“We are also raising some money for sinking some boreholes as there is a big problem with water. We don’t have enough space now to move, as we used to move from place to place to find water.”
