PATIENTS in Oxfordshire will be among the first to be given NHS money to spend on their care needs, as part of a trial.
The county is one of six areas in England staging pilot projects where people will be given money, possibly in monthly payments or a lump sum, to spend on health services and treatments.
The scheme differs from previous personal health budget trials, because the money will go direct to the patient, rather than via primary care trusts.
