THE father of a murdered man appealed yesterday – the sixth anniversary of his death – for his killers to turn themselves in.
Father-of-two Kevin Lavelle, 29, was attacked in The Cricketers pub, in Grimsbury, near Banbury, on June 24, 2004.
The crane operator was beaten with an iron bar in a gang attack after an argument.
Last night his father, Paddy Lavelle, urged anybody who has information to come forward and secure justice for his son.
He said: “I want to know how they can live with themselves.
“They know what they have done, and people close to them know what they have done. I urge them to do the right thing and come forward.
“As a family we want justice for Kevin.”
Police said there is a £30,000 reward available for anyone with information that leads to a conviction for the death.
Mr Lavelle, from Bootle, Merseyside, was working in Oxfordshire to save money to marry his fiancee, Michelle Thomas.
An inquest found the father-of-two died from 50 injuries sustained in the attack on the night of the England v Portugal game during Euro 2004.
Detective Inspector Steve Duffy said: “It has been six years since he was brutally attacked in Banbury and I am determined to find out who is responsible.”
Anyone with information can call police on 08458 505 505.
