IT IS clear to us that there are alternatives to turning Manzil Way Gardens into a builder’s compound for two years (Oxford Mail, June 19).

Access could be provided via the road which encircles the health centre and part of their car park used for the storage of materials.

This will be a more costly option for the developers – but one which reflects the value the community put on retaining the use of this valuable space.

The Labour-run city council should not be putting the interests of developers ahead of those of the local community but listening to what the people want.
