WITNEY will come alive with floats, music and stalls for this year’s carnival.
The programmes for the carnival have now been printed, this year decorated by drawings by Charlotte Woodage, 10, from Batt Primary School.
The event is on Saturday, July 10, from 10am to 5pm.
It is being organised by Witney Rotary Club, Witney Lions and the Round Table, and has the support of the Air Training Corps.
Rotarian Charles Ford said: “It started in a small way and it’s now a major event. We get a lot of people there.
“It’s all free and we have enough there for very small children to OAPs.
“A lot of the events are geared towards children, so it’s a good family day out.”
He added: “It’s probably Witney’s biggest single event that people can attend.”
A procession will begin at 11am at The Leys, and follow a route along Station Lane, Corn Street, Holloway Road, Welch Way and High Street, finishing back at 12.30pm at The Leys.
There will be a donkey derby, with six races leading to a grand final, along with a tug of war and a dog show.
Groups who want to enter a float have until July 1.
For more information and to enter, call Ron Spurs on 07793 598216.
