Oxford City Council has said it has no plans to return to weekly rubbish collections, despite the Government’s plans to change its guidance.

Communities minister Eric Pickles has said authorities can return to a weekly collection and advice promoting the emptying of bins fortnightly will be revoked.

But city leader Bob Price said there were no plans to change the system in Oxford and the introduction of a weekly food recycling service earlier this month had addressed many hygiene concerns.
