A 53-year-old woman was given a one-year conditional discharge after she admitted to assault without injury at Banbury Magistrates’ Court.
Janet Funnell, of Thorpe Road, Upper Wardington, was charged with the offence after an incident in the village where she assaulted a 43-year-old man. Funnell, who appeared at Banbury Magistrates’ Court, was also given a two-year restraining order, which states she is not to pester or harass the victim or his family either directly or indirectly.
PC Becky McLeod said: “This is a positive result for the rural neighbourhood team and shows that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour and will work to tackle any issue like this as and when it arises.”
