A MAN has admitted a series of sex offences against young girls near Didcot in 1982.
Detectives from Thames Valley Police’s major crime review team arrested Adrian De Havilland, 45, formerly known as Adrian Goodenough, in Wigan earlier this year following a review of forensic evidence from the attack.
At Oxford Crown Court today, De Havilland pleaded guilty to one count of falsely imprisoning an 11-year-old girl, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of gross indecency with a child.
He also denied one count of false imprisonment.
De Havilland’s 11-year-old victim and a 10-year-old friend were walking along an isolated track between Harwell and West Hagbourne when De Havilland, then 17 and wearing a mask, threatened them with a knife.
Sentencing was adjourned until July 23.
De Havilland will remain in custody.
