A COUPLE had bikes worth more than £1,000 stolen from under the Bridge of Sighs in the city centre.
The theft happened in New College Lane at 6pm on Wednesday last week.
The machines taken were a man’s blue Via Nirone 7, worth £600, and a white Dolce 2010 ladies, worth £550.
Pc Tim Preen said: “Both bikes were secured, so thieves must have used tools to remove them.
“I am hoping that someone saw something in the area at the time.
“I personally caught a bike thief red-handed just a couple of weeks ago, and the Oxford neighbourhood team continues to patrol the area to reduce this type of crime.”
Call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
