The Newbury Comedy Festival, which begins tomorrow, has a fun line-up of comedy treats for children as well as adults.
The fun begins with James Cambell, the first stand-up comedian for children. His unique style covers everything from parents to Playstations and is geared towards children aged six and upwards. His show takes place tomorrow at 2pm.
On Sunday, The Muppet Movie brings madness and mayhem to the Corn Exchange at 11am, when that little green frog and his feisty co-star Miss Piggy take over.
On Monday, the finalists of Wise Crackers, a nationwide comedy competition for youngsters, will take over the stage to face each other during an evening of original comedy. A panel of judges will assess each act X-Factor style before announcing the overall winner.
The Big Howard, Little Howard show, which takes place on Tuesday at 4.30pm, is a combination of stand-up comedy and interactive animation, with Howard Read performing with a cast of animated characters which he voices himself. The star of the show is little Howard, Read's six-year-old alter-ego.
The festival runs until July 11. For further information about Kid's Comedy at the Corn Exchange, or to book tickets call 01635 522733 or go to www.newburycomedyfestival.com
